On April 18, Mr. Bill Gates came to Chaoyang District Disease Prevention & Control Center to study AIDS prevention and treatment work.

Mr. Gates learned relevant information about the AIDS prevention & control in Chaoyang District by after visiting the VCT consultant room and the playrooms for the HIV infected and drug-addicts, having genial conversations with some of commercial sex workers (CSW), intravenous drug users (IDU) and the HIV infected. He made inquiry about the details of VCT (HIV Voluntary Counseling & Testing) work, the test of CD4 cells of the infected, methadone therapy and other works.
¡¡¡¡In the end, Bill Gates had a talk with the leaders of Chaoyang District and the leaders of Beijing Health Bureau. Mr. Cheng Lianyuan, chief of the Chaoyang District, extended his warm welcome to Mr. Bill Gates and expressed his gratitude for the contributions made by Mr. Gates to AIDS prevention & control work for years.
